In times of change — Brexit, climate change, digitalisation and the rise of populist parties are burning examples — the central question for us all is
»How do we go forward?«
Together with the Lüneburg Theatre, BFS is primarily interested in the opinions of the European youth. Together we premiere three musical statements.
Three young composers Josephine Stephenson (*1990 - UK/FR), Claudio Panariello (1988 - IT) and Zaneta Rydzewska (*1991 - POL) are invited to give musical expression to their very personal experiences and convictions. In addition, during the Beethoven Year we look back at Europe's roots, as well as our own, and present Ludwig v. Beethoven not only as a great European but as a revolutionary new thinker. As a visionary and innovative creator of new genres and formats, he is the inspiration for our attempt to link contemporary music with the classical repertoire of a municipal theatre. Broken Frames Syndicate performs as a soloist quintet together with the Orchester Lüneburg and premieres works written especially for this occasion.
