THEIRstory we produce together with the Frankfurt-based Archiv Frau & Musik.
We invite you to 3 different events in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region.
The music industry has a sexism problem, as several scientific studies have shown. Cis men in particular are still in positions of power, while works by FLINTA* composers are still performed significantly less often than works by cis-male colleagues.
We want to actively work against this in order to increase the visibility of FLINTA* persons in our environment. That is why we are presenting over 30 works by FLINTA* artists and inviting you to an inspiring dialogue.
We start with a lecture-concert at the Stadtbücherei Frankfurt (September 9) together with Susanne Wosnitzka from Archiv Frau & Musik.
On September 21, we will be performing all day at Frankfurt's Seilerbahn - there will be six concerts, readings, lectures and a party at the end.
And on November 22, we will be playing new chamber music in Darmstadt.
Different, curated programs are dedicated to topics such as
* (In)visibility * fluidity * belonging * inclusion * exclusion.
FLINTA* stands for Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, and Asexual and points out a group of people experiencing similar forms of sexist discrimination.
“ Why do the cultural expressions and voices of millions still remain absent from our global stages?”
